I'm in the process of planning to retrofit MMI 3G in my A8 and have a question about the basic phone prep.:-k How do you activate bluetooth phone prep in MMI 3G? The unit in the car is 4E0 035 666 and as far as I know the bluetooth hardware is already in it. I know that I need the roof microphones module with 3 microphone - but what about the rest? (.,) I on some other forum that phone has to be activated through the hidden menu and then coding of 77-telephone with VCDS but the person who wrote this could not confirm.:evil: Or do I really have to send my unit to Kufatec for reprogramming? I mean the software must be the same because according to etka 4E0 035 666 is for cars with and without phone prep.:-k /Nicky. I got the phone activated through the hidden menu - before it said 'Telephone not installed' and now it says something like - 'Telephone not connected'.

Have just picked up my 2010 Audi A6 today and have been trying to. If it says 'Telephone not Installed' then you do not. Audi A6 - Am i missing Bluetooth.

Hi all, first post so please forgive the hint of uncertainty. My MMI on my '06 Audi A6 Avant went totally black a few weeks back. No lights, no temporary or faded screen, no buttons have lights. Checked fuses, checked Bose amp, (bought new one from Bose direct) checked Bluetooth/phone module under driver's side carpet, checked radio module under Bose amp for water damage, all to no. 0 = No Cell Phone Cradle/Charger installed; 1 = 1 Cell Phone Cradle/Charger installed; 2 = 2 Cell Phone. 4 = Audi A6 (4F) Sedan; 5 = Audi A6 (4F) Avant/Wagon/Allroad; 6 = Audi A8 (4E); 7 = Audi Q7 (4L). 1 = MMI High; 2 = MMI Standard.

Puggy dubois died today rarlab. When you try to search for a Phone it says that Bluetooth is not activa and asks if you want to activate it to search for a phone - when you press yes it seems that it is searching for about 2 seconds and then it says that it cannot find any phones in range. When I go into the Bluetooth menu on the TEL screen everything is grayed out.

I think somehow even if phone is activated, bluetooth is not. Question is now how to activate bluetooth. One more thing - when i go into Versions from the Hidden menu - there is data on every alternative except Bluetooth. This bugs the hell out of me - I cannot believe that the only alternatve is to send the whole 5F unit to Kufatec. So any ideas would be welcome.

Is your 4E0910333F really dead? Has the dealership confirmed this? The thing is that this unit is connected to the MOST-ring in your car and if it was dead then you MMI would not work at all.

I do not know what the problem is in your case but it seems that the phone is just not activated - either in the gateway or in the mmi head unit (control head). To check this you either need to go to a dealership or find someone who has VCDS (VAG-COM) in your town.
